How to Remove Your Smart Wipers - Service Mode

Applies to: Smart #1 (2023+), Smart #3 (2024+)

Need to reach the wipers on your Smart? Some models use service mode. Others let you lift the wiper arms straight from the windscreen. Use the steps below for the models listed here.

How to Access Your Smart Wiper Blades

1. Turn your car off.
   
2. Within 10 seconds push the wiper stalk to the mist position and hold for about 3 seconds.
   
3. The wipers will move to a service position.
   
4. You can now change the blades.
   
5. To return: turn the car on and activate the wipers once.

Just one quick check

The Smart #1 and #3 are fully electric vehicles with predominantly touchscreen controls. Some functions including wiper service mode may also be accessible through the vehicle settings on the central display. If the stalk sequence does not trigger check Settings → Vehicle → Wiper or equivalent in the Smart menu structure.
