How to Remove Your Mazda Wipers - Service Mode

Applies to: Mazda 2 (2015+), Mazda 3 (2019+), Mazda 6 (2013+), CX-3, CX-5 (2017+), CX-30, CX-60

On many Mazda models, the wipers park beneath the bonnet edge. Do not force the arms upwards. Put them into service mode first, then they are easy to reach.

How to Activate Mazda Wiper Service Mode

With Keyless Push-Button Start

  1. Press the START button without pressing the brake pedal. This puts the car into accessory mode.
  2. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. Press the START button again to turn the car off.
  4. Within 30 seconds, twice in quick succession pull the wiper stalk towards you and hold each pull for about half a second. The wipers will move to a service position.
  5. You can now change the blades.
  6. To return: turn the car on and activate the wipers normally.

With Traditional Key Ignition

  1. Turn the key to the ON position (not START — just one click forward).
  2. Wait 5 seconds.
  3. Turn the key to OFF/LOCK.
  4. Within 30 seconds, twice in quick succession pull the wiper stalk towards you and hold each pull for about half a second.
  5. You can now change the blades.
  6. To return: activate wipers normally.

Just one quick check

The double-pull action on the stalk is the most common point of confusion for Mazda owners. Each pull should be firm and held for about half a second, not a quick flick. Two deliberate pulls in quick succession is what triggers the sequence.

Make Sure the Blades Fit

Wiper sizes and fittings can change between versions of the same model. Enter your registration and we'll match your car with the correct front and rear blades.

We’ll also send the fitting video and any service-mode steps your car needs. Open the box and you’re ready to go.
